King Gizzard Announce Australian Tour, a Rave Set, and a Block Party They Curated
King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard have announced a 2026 Australian tour, headlined by a two-day, band-curated event called the Croxton Block Party in Melbourne and including a late-night "rave set" in Sydney. The announcement comes as the prolific Melbourne band enjoys an especially busy period, having recently revealed its 28th studio album, the hard-electronic Alien Metal, alongside the tour dates.
The tour runs from 13 to 18 October 2026, opening at Anita's Theatre in Thirroul before a headline show at Sydney's Hordern Pavilion and a separate late show at Liberty Hall billed as a rave set, both on 14 October. It then moves to Melbourne's Croxton for the second edition of the Block Party on 17-18 October, with the band headlining three-hour sets each night alongside acts including Shonen Knife, Babe Rainbow and C.O.F.F.I.N. A dollar from every Block Party ticket will go towards a Tasmanian Aboriginal Centre-led conservation project on Lungtalanana Island aimed at reintroducing native wombats and potoroos.
