Dylan Mulvaney has publicly responded after US President Donald Trump mocked her during his White House Correspondents' Dinner speech on Friday, in which he compared her unfavourably to CNN's Kaitlan Collins and revisited the 2023 Bud Light controversy. The exchange has reignited scrutiny of Trump's repeated targeting of Mulvaney, a trans actress and advocate, and highlights ongoing tensions around transgender visibility in US public life.

In a TikTok video posted on Sunday, Mulvaney noted that Trump had said her name four times during the speech, in which he claimed she had cost Bud Light $35 billion in market value and joked he "wouldn't want to hire" her. Rather than take offence, Mulvaney congratulated Collins and suggested that being repeatedly mocked by the administration was "the greatest compliment of all," framing her continued relevance as proof of her personal freedom. Trump has since doubled down, sharing an AI-generated image superimposing Collins' face onto Mulvaney's body from the original beer advert.
