Keanu Reeves' 1991 cult classic Point Break is returning to cinemas nationwide for a limited run to mark its 35th anniversary, screening on 16 and 19 August in a new 4K restoration from Resurgence Media Group, Saga Arts and Fathom Entertainment. The re-release highlights an early high point in Reeves' career, which took off after the film cast him as FBI agent Johnny Utah alongside Patrick Swayze, Lori Petty and Gary Busey, and comes amid a busy year for the actor across cinema and streaming.

Point Break marks Reeves' third release of 2026, following his voicing of Duke Caboom in the widely praised Toy Story 5, which is tipped to become the year's third film to reach $1 billion at the box office, and Outcome, a poorly reviewed drama directed by Jonah Hill in which Reeves plays a former star battling heroin addiction, co-starring Matt Bomer, Cameron Diaz and Susan Lucci among others. Outcome, streaming on Apple TV, is Hill's second narrative feature after his 2018 debut mid90s, and was co-written by Hill with Ezra Woods.
