Former NFL player Daniel Adongo, a 37-year-old Kenyan national, has been deported from the United States by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), which described him as a "dangerous individual" with an overstayed visa and a history of arrests. Adongo shot to fame in 2013 when he switched from rugby to American football with no prior experience, playing as a linebacker for the Indianapolis Colts, but his life took a difficult turn after his NFL career ended in 2015, including reported mental health issues and time in a psychiatric hospital.

ICE said Adongo overstayed his visa in 2016 and had since been arrested multiple times for offences including felony intimidation, battery and disorderly conduct, before being ordered to leave the US on 23 March and removed on 20 June. In 2017 he was ruled incompetent to stand trial after a psychiatric examination, and in 2020 he was convicted of "criminal mischief with damage" and sentenced to 364 days in prison. ICE said his most recent case fell under the Laken Riley Act, signed by President Trump in January 2025, which mandates detention for undocumented immigrants arrested for theft or violent crimes; it is not clear where Adongo was deported to, and more than 40 Kenyans have reportedly been arrested by ICE in total.
