A teenage girl was allegedly attacked near Cat Lane in the Gleadless Valley area of Sheffield on 18 June 2026 in the late afternoon. South Yorkshire Police released a photograph of a man wanted in connection with the incident on 30 June, describing him as Black, of substantial build, approximately 5ft 6ins tall, and wearing burgundy trousers with a black hooded jacket at the time of the alleged assault.

Nearly six weeks after the reported incident and approximately one month following the public appeal, South Yorkshire Police has not announced any arrests or charges related to the case. Officers continue to ask members of the public who were in the area at the time or possess information about the suspect to contact police through standard channels or the anonymous Crimestoppers service.
