The invitation follows Mamdani's remarks referencing "genocide" during a St Patrick's Day event at Gracie Mansion, and comes amid broader criticism of the mayor, including separate calls from 9/11 families to exclude him from the 25th-anniversary remembrance over what they describe as his "hostile" record.
