Linda Perhacs Reported Missing

Stereogum · 4 hours ago

Linda Perhacs, the 82-year-old psychedelic folk musician best known for her 1970 cult album Parallelograms, has been reported missing after friends and collaborators lost contact with her. Her former manager, Laurel Stearns, said Perhacs was discharged from a residential care facility around eight months ago under the supervision of her legal guardian, and that repeated attempts by loved ones to reach both her and the guardian have gone unanswered. Stearns stressed that no wrongdoing is being alleged, but that those involved want confirmation Perhacs is safe and receiving proper care.

Guitarist and collaborator Fernando Perdomo said Perhacs had been in a memory-care home and that they last had contact roughly two years ago, at her 80th birthday celebration. He said he discovered around six weeks ago that she had been moved by her next of kin, whose phone number had since gone unanswered, prompting him to fear he may have been blocked. Perdomo confirmed a formal missing-persons report has been filed with California's Adult Protective Services, and Stearns has asked anyone with information to contact her directly at lstearns@primarywave.com.
