ESPN and The CW have announced that their new live sports partnership will launch on 4 August 2026, bringing The CW's eclectic sports programming to ESPN subscribers. The content will be available as a specific benefit of ESPN's Unlimited plan, one of two tiers within its relaunched subscription service, and will stream via ESPN's mobile and TV apps and website. The deal matters because it consolidates a broader range of live sports, from wrestling to college athletics, under one subscription, potentially adding value for fans already paying for dedicated sports streaming.

At launch, the headline draws will be WWE NXT and the final two races of the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series, alongside niche fare such as pro bowling and bull riding. From 29 August, subscribers will also get access to 140 hours of college football across the ACC, Pac-12 and Mountain West conferences, with new agreements extending additional football and basketball coverage through the 2030-2031 season. Despite these deals, licensing constraints mean The CW cannot stream every in-demand college fixture, though the addition is expected to sweeten ESPN's existing $30-a-month subscription.
