SEGA is inviting PS5 players to sign up for a closed beta test of its upcoming arcade reboot, Crazy Taxi: World Tour, giving fans an early chance to try the game ahead of its full launch. Registrations are open now until 31st August, with the test itself running from 11th to 13th September, marking one of the first opportunities for the public to play the long-awaited revival.

The beta will focus solely on multiplayer content, featuring two modes: Pickup Race, where up to six players compete to deliver passengers within a time limit, and Cops 'N' Cabbies, a team-based mode; both can be played via matchmade Ranked Matches or custom lobbies. Players will have access to four drivers, six cars and two maps, including the previously revealed West Coast setting, while the single-player story mode will not be included. The game's announcement was previously controversial due to SEGA's use of generative AI in some art assets, though the developer has said these will be replaced before the full release in 2027.
