Ryan Murphy, co-creator of Glee, has said he is open to reviving the musical series with a new instalment, citing a resurgence of interest from younger viewers. Speaking to People during the premiere of his new FX series The Shards, Murphy said the show had "come back around" and that his continued affection for it made him receptive to the idea of a fresh version, though he stopped short of confirming any concrete plans.

Glee, created by Murphy alongside Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan, ran on Fox for six seasons from 2009 to 2015, producing more than 120 episodes and starring Matthew Morrison, Lea Michele, Chris Colfer and Jane Lynch among others. The comedy-drama followed a high school glee club navigating issues of sexuality, family and race, and later spawned a concert film and the reality spin-off The Glee Project. Murphy's comments come amid a wider run of nostalgia-driven revivals across television.
