Actor Laura Marcus, known for her upcoming role in Netflix's live-action Assassin's Creed adaptation, is developing and starring in her first Channel 4 comedy project, a "Blap" titled F**k Ups. The short-form pilot follows Miracle June Jones, an achievement-obsessed teenager forced to confront failure while stuck in her hometown, alongside her overbearing neighbour Lillian Cheeks. Channel 4 Blaps serve as a proving ground for new talent, with successful pilots sometimes developed into full series.

Marcus stars opposite Molly Hewitt-Richards, Alexander Arnold, Sophie Thompson and Mark Benton, with direction from Will Wightman; the pilot is partly based on a short film Marcus made during the pandemic with producer Daniel Sved. It is produced by Bristol-based Calling the Shots Films, with Sved and Leah Draws producing, Jeremy Routledge as executive producer, Andy Brereton as Channel 4's commissioning editor, and a soundtrack composed by Lynks. Marcus described the project as "an adrenaline fuelled love letter to being the lamest rats in town."
