Charlton Athletic sign Leicester’s Neville

BBC Sport · 5 hours ago

Charlton Athletic have signed full-back Ashleigh Neville from Leicester City on a two-year deal, reuniting her with manager Karen Hills, whom she previously worked under for three years at Tottenham. The move brings significant Women's Super League experience to newly-promoted Charlton, with the 33-year-old having made over 100 WSL appearances during her career.

Neville joined Leicester in January on an 18-month contract, but the club were relegated after losing a play-off to Charlton in May; a fee is believed to have been paid since no relegation release clause applied. Separately, Leicester have moved to strengthen their squad following relegation by signing Republic of Ireland internationals Jessie Stapleton, 21, and Jessica Ziu, 24, from West Ham on undisclosed fees, reportedly on three-year and two-year deals respectively.
