Black Sabbath's legendary guitarist Tony Iommi has revealed plans for a new solo album arriving in autumn, titled 'From the Dark.' The record, distributed through BMG, marks a collaborative effort that pairs Iommi's signature guitar work with the vocal talents of Jorn Lande, a respected Norwegian singer known for appearances with various metal acts. The full-length comprises eight tracks, with additional bonus material included on physical deluxe editions. Supporting musicians include bassist Becky Baldwin and drummer Karl Brazil, whilst producer Mike Exeter returns as Iommi's longtime studio collaborator.

The project's first track, 'World Alone,' premiered alongside a music video depicting a dystopian narrative where a character named The Believer navigates a perilous virtual realm in pursuit of redemption. Iommi expressed enthusiasm about the completed work, emphasising that the team prioritised creative satisfaction over external validation. The album represents a contemporary yet enduring sonic undertaking that Iommi and his production partner have crafted to deliver an immersive listening experience. At 78 years old, Iommi continues his prolific career, having recently memorialised fellow Black Sabbath alumnus Ozzy Osbourne.
