Sony Pictures has released the trailer for Jumanji: Open World, the fourth film in the long-running franchise and a sequel to 2019's Jumanji: The Next Level, directed once again by Jake Kasdan. The trailer confirms the film picks up on a mid-credits hook from the previous instalment, with the game's avatars now spilling into the real world, initially stuck in "demo mode" before characters are inevitably drawn back into the game itself.

The franchise began with the 1995 film starring Robin Williams, based on a 1981 children's book, before Kasdan revived it in 2017 with Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, which reworked the premise around a video game and grossed over $960 million worldwide. The entire main cast returns for Open World, including Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Karen Gillan, Kevin Hart, Nick Jonas, Awkwafina and Danny DeVito, alongside newcomers such as Burn Gorman and Nasim Pedrad. Jumanji: Open World is scheduled for release on 25 December 2026.
