Consequence · 5 hours ago

Blonde Redhead have released "Blood Spilled," their first new song in three years, marking a return for the trio following their 2023 album Sit Down for Dinner. The release matters as a signal of renewed activity from the long-running experimental rock band, coinciding with the announcement of a fresh run of live dates across the Americas.

The track, released via section1 records, combines fuzzed-out guitars, resonant bass and dreamlike keyboards with driving drums beneath Kazu Makino's vocals, exploring themes of love and death through an unconventional, building structure. Makino, alongside twin brothers Simon and Amedeo Pace, described the song as embracing "our incredible edge over those who no longer have bodies." The band will tour Mexico and South America in September and October before three California shows, with tickets available via Ticketmaster.
