Halo: Campaign Evolved’s PC version reportedly contains local split-screen co-operative functionality that is not available through the game’s normal menus, but can be activated with a third-party mod. The finding matters because it suggests the feature was built into the PC release yet withheld from players, despite split-screen being offered on console versions.

The mod’s creator says the PC files retain split-screen settings, co-op level variants, HUD layouts, spawn logic, visual effects and audio. It enables local co-op on one PC, while the official game supports online campaign co-op for up to four players; the workaround may be unstable or unsupported by Halo Studios.
