Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey has prompted renewed interest in Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, as audiences seek a game set in Ancient Greece with familiar locations and mythological elements. The 2018 role-playing game recreates major Greek regions and incorporates places, characters and monsters connected to Homer’s poem, making it a natural companion to the film.

Analyst Rhys Elliot said active users rose by 90% across major platforms in July 2026, reaching an estimated 233,000 players, with Xbox seeing the largest increase through Game Pass. The game’s low price, availability through subscription services, lengthy campaign and educational Discovery Tour mode may also have helped, while the surge has fuelled speculation about a possible remake or Nintendo release.
