Samira Wiley and Mileiah Vega have completed filming lead roles in The Let Go, a music-focused independent drama shot in Colorado and written and directed by Kristen Wolf. The film centres on a single mother supporting her talented 11-year-old daughter’s musical ambitions, until a setback forces the mother to confront her own hidden talent; it marks Wolf’s feature-directing debut.

Wiley plays Chick and Vega plays her daughter, Lyric. The supporting cast includes Sophia Bush, Midori Francis, Brandon Flynn, Galen J. Williams, Nicco Annan and Tovah Feldshuh, while Rachel Gould and Adriana Rotaru produced through Soto Productions. Wolf previously directed award-winning short films and has worked across film, theatre and literature.
