Blizzard is adding a Rebirth option to Diablo 4, allowing players to take an existing Eternal character into a new season instead of creating an entirely new one. The character will still begin the season afresh, but the feature lets players retain that hero’s identity and history, addressing a long-standing complaint about seasonal play.

Rebirth will reset the chosen character to level one and move it to the Seasonal Realm, while its existing equipment is removed and returned to the Eternal stash. Diablo 4 has previously required a newly created character for every season; the system follows a similar feature in Diablo 3 and should also help players avoid filling their limited character slots.
