Father who bought AR-15 for Georgia school shooter learns fate in first-of-its-kind conviction

Fox News · 4 hours ago

Colin Gray, the father of Apalachee High School shooter Colt Gray, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison over his role in the events preceding the 2024 school massacre. A Georgia judge said Gray had failed as a parent by ignoring increasingly clear warning signs and not preventing his son’s access to the rifle used in the attack, making the case significant for parental accountability in school shootings.

Gray, 55, received concurrent prison terms from Barrow County Superior Court Judge Nicholas Primm. The judge said that “the warning lights were flashing brighter and brighter” before the shooting, indicating that concerns about Colt Gray’s behaviour and access to the weapon had escalated.
