Jae Stephens has released ‘Sugar Trap’, a bass-heavy pop single that previews her forthcoming debut album. The song presents romantic attention as something she can control, with Stephens saying it is about recognising personal power and refusing to let others determine women’s value.

Produced by Dallas Caton, ‘Sugar Trap’ follows Stephens’s earlier single ‘Attaboy’ and builds on the confident style of her Sellout EP series. Stephens is due to perform on the BMI stage at Lollapalooza on Saturday 1 August, while her debut album is expected soon.
