Kingdom Hearts Collection Switch 2 Local Box Art Reportedly Updated
Square Enix has updated the local Switch 2 box art for the forthcoming physical Kingdom Hearts Collection after criticism of its previous visual design and allegations that it used generative AI. The company says the artwork was made by its development team without generative AI, and that the problems were caused by human error; it says corrected assets have now been used where appropriate.
The replacement cover reportedly matches the Japanese listing and uses Tetsuya Nomura’s original artwork, with clouds replacing the previous buildings and altered character positioning. It also removes a criticised depiction of Donald Duck’s four-fingered hand. The Switch 2 release remains a Game-Key Card and is scheduled for 8 October 2026.
