Nine-year-old Oliver Smith from Wombwell, Barnsley, was surprised with a meeting with Spider-Man stars Tom Holland and Zendaya after raising money for The Brain Tumour Charity. The BBC One Show arranged the visit to a London hotel and gave Oliver’s family tickets to the new film’s premiere, recognising his fundraising following his father’s brain tumour diagnosis.

Oliver completed nine marathons in four months and raised £16,000 after his father, Tom, was diagnosed with a meningioma in August last year. Tom has recovered well after surgery and returned to work as an assistant headteacher, while Oliver is now taking on a triathlon-style challenge to raise further funds; brain tumours are the UK’s biggest cancer killer among under-40s.
