WIT Studio’s upcoming One Piece remake was initially planned to adapt its opening material in even fewer episodes than the seven now confirmed. The change highlights the project’s aim to offer a more streamlined, modern entry point to the long-running series while retaining sufficient time for its early story and characters.

The first season, due on Netflix in February 2027, will cover roughly the manga’s first 50 chapters in seven episodes totalling about 300 minutes. It will adapt the East Blue storyline up to Luffy meeting Sanji at the Baratie restaurant, with episodes averaging around 42 minutes and releasing simultaneously.

  • The remake’s first season was originally planned to be shorter.
  • Seven episodes will adapt roughly 50 manga chapters.
  • Netflix will release the season in February 2027.
