Gary Oldman, Curry Barker, ‘Barbie’ Producer Robbie Brenner to Keynote Toronto Film Festival
Toronto International Film Festival has added Gary Oldman, Curry Barker and Barbie producer Robbie Brenner to the keynote programme for its new TIFF: The Market event. The announcements underline TIFF’s effort to expand its industry role beyond cinema, positioning the festival as a hub for deals involving television, games and immersive formats.
Barker and Obsession star Inde Navarrette will discuss the Focus Features horror film’s commercial success, while Oldman will reflect on his career and his Slow Horses role. The programme also includes Lee Chang-dong, Christine Vachon and Pamela Koffler; Warner Bros. chiefs Mike De Luca and Pam Abdy had already been named keynote speakers. TIFF: The Market runs from 10 to 16 September, within the wider festival running from 10 to 20 September.
