The Maccabees have said they are developing new music, with the goal of eventually making a full studio album. It would be their first record since 2015’s ‘Marks To Prove It’, signalling that their reunion may extend beyond a limited run of live shows.

The London band returned in 2025 after eight years away and are now finishing a UK outdoor tour. They have premiered ‘Ballad Of So Long’ during the 2026 dates and have also been rehearsing another unreleased song, ‘She’. Frontman Orlando Weeks said the group now have several songs in progress but will continue working after the tour, while guitarist Hugo White said performing new material offered “a hint of the future”.
