Sadie Sink plays Jean Grey in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, introducing the powerful X-Men character as an initially antagonistic force for Tom Holland’s Peter Parker. Her appearance matters because it brings a major mutant figure into the Spider-Man series and links the story to Jean Grey’s established comic-book history.

Jean can enter minds and move between bodies within 33 feet, allowing her to manipulate others while searching the Department of Damage Control for her sister, Sara. Director Bill Metzger had imprisoned Sara to study and reproduce her psionic abilities; the experiments killed her, and he then attempted to use Jean for the same purpose. Sink follows Famke Janssen and Sophie Turner as live-action portrayals of the character.
