The Smashing Pumpkins surprised audiences at a Lollapalooza aftershow in Chicago by inviting Barry Williams, best known as Greg Brady in The Brady Bunch, to perform “It’s a Sunshine Day”. The unusual crossover drew attention because it combined a classic sitcom moment with a major alternative rock band, while rapper Flavor Flav was seen enthusiastically headbanging in the crowd.

Williams sang alongside backing vocalists after being introduced by frontman Billy Corgan. The song, written by Steve McCarthy, became one of The Brady Bunch’s best-known musical moments; Williams had also recently appeared on Corgan’s podcast, where he said being recognised as Greg Brady felt like a privilege when approached positively.
