Steven Spielberg’s sci-fi film Disclosure Day has become the most-watched film on Prime Video in the United States after arriving on premium video-on-demand on 21 July. It displaced Obsession, a horror film that had led streaming charts following its cinema, digital rental and Peacock releases, highlighting continued audience demand for both films beyond their theatrical runs.
Disclosure Day is Spielberg’s first science-fiction film in nearly a decade and is described as a first-contact story starring Emily Blunt, Josh O’Connor and Colin Firth. Obsession, directed by YouTuber Curry Barker, reportedly cost under $1 million and earned more than $200 million worldwide, while remaining in the box-office top ten more than two months after release.
