Slipknot guitarist Jim Root has publicly urged fans not to trust reports that DJ and keyboardist Sid Wilson has been removed from the band, adding a new response to the developing story. His message appeared shortly after TMZ reported Wilson’s alleged permanent dismissal, but Root did not name him and Slipknot has still made no official statement, leaving the claim unconfirmed.

Root wrote on Instagram that people should “wait until there’s more information”, accompanying the post with ‘Til We Die’. No explanation for the alleged split has emerged; Wilson is a long-serving member, while the band has been developing new material following 2022’s ‘The End, So Far’ and released the previously shelved ‘Look Outside Your Window’ this year.
