The dispute illustrates the political and professional tensions around the track, which has attracted criticism over its portrayal of the Gaza war and comments directed at pro-Palestinian musicians.

The reggae-influenced song references the Hamas-led attack on the Nova music festival on 7 October 2023 and includes the line, “You say genocide, I say war”. Shared online under the Hebrew title ‘Od Nirkod’, it refers to an attack in which 378 people were killed and dozens taken hostage, while the wider war in Gaza has caused extensive Palestinian casualties and remains internationally contested.
