Ayaneo has unveiled the Konkr Pocket Advance, a modern handheld inspired by Nintendo’s original Game Boy Advance, shortly after the console’s 25th anniversary in the US. It matters because it combines the recognisable horizontal GBA design with updated controls, connectivity and display hardware, although it is not an official Nintendo product.

The device has a 3.5-inch 960 × 640 LCD retaining the GBA’s 3:2 screen ratio, ABXY and extra shoulder/menu buttons, USB-C, microSD storage, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a headphone socket and a volume wheel. It will initially come in navy blue and coral orange colourways referencing classic GBA variants, but Ayaneo has not announced pricing or a release date; previous limited Pocket Micro 2 stock sold out within minutes.
