The Verge · 3 hours ago

A pirated copy of Spider-Man: Brand New Day remained on X for more than seven hours before being removed, reaching millions of accounts in that time. Despite the leak, the film’s early box-office performance suggests demand remains strong, underlining its potential to become one of the biggest cinema openings on record.

The bootleg reportedly reached more than 5.9 million accounts and received over 143,000 likes, while Disney has since pursued takedowns of reposts. The film earned $72 million in previews, surpassing Avengers: Endgame’s $60 million record, and had grossed $168 million by opening day compared with Endgame’s $157.4 million; Sony forecasts a $325 million opening.
