Worksop Town FC completed their pre-season campaign unbeaten with a 3-1 win over a young Sheffield United XI at the KC Sofas Stadium on 1 August 2026. The Tigers dominated much of the game, particularly in the first half, using long-ball tactics to target forward Vaughan Redford, and the result rounds off their preparations before the new season gets under way.

Worksop took the lead on the stroke of half-time when Liam Waldock converted a penalty after Oli Greaves was fouled following a goalkeeping fumble. Aleks Starcenko doubled the advantage early in the second half from a rebound, before Bailey Miller pulled one back for Sheffield United in the 57th minute. Josh Wilde restored the two-goal cushion with a header in the 74th minute, and Waldock was named Media Man of the Match. Worksop Town now turn their attention to the start of the season, away at Darlington.
