Palworld’s official trading card game has launched amid rapid price inflation on eBay, where scalpers are reselling sealed products and rare cards for far above retail prices. The trend matters because it may make the new game harder and more expensive for ordinary collectors to enter, echoing longstanding problems in the Pokémon card market.

The first set, Dawn of Palpagos, released globally on 30 July after Pocketpair partnered with Bushiroad, and the company had reported 3.5 million packs ordered before launch. A 12-box case priced at $499.99 by retailer Lumius has been listed for about $1,800 on eBay; a master case sold for $5,990, while rare cards reportedly sold for up to $3,997.98. Prices for the rare Cattiva Gold Soul Card have since fallen to roughly $1,000, and a second set, Legends Awaken, is planned for October.
