Solitude Aeturnus has appointed former Holy Grail vocalist James-Paul Luna as its new singer, replacing Robert Lowe after his departure was announced in April. The move gives the long-running Texas doom metal band a new frontman as it seeks to resume regular activity, including live shows and other future plans.

Luna, who has also performed with Intranced, will make his debut with the band at Candelabrum Festival in León, Mexico, on 12 September. Solitude Aeturnus previously used guest vocalist Jason McMaster for its Maryland Deathfest appearance in May; its current instrumental line-up includes John Perez, Edgar Rivera, Lyle Steadham and Logan Cade. The band’s most recent album, *Alone*, was released in 2006.
