Wales' 2026 Commonwealth Games campaign in Glasgow has been hailed a success after the team won 31 medals, finishing ninth in the overall medal table. Chef de mission Gethin Jones said the haul compared favourably with previous Games, noting that if judged as a percentage of the 2022 Birmingham total, Wales had "more than 100%" of that success, while also praising the team's culture and spirit alongside the results.

The tally of nine gold, 10 silver and 12 bronze fell short of Wales' best-ever performance of 36 medals at the 2018 Gold Coast Games, though the Glasgow event featured fewer sports overall. Cyclist Emma Finucane was the standout performer, winning a record four gold medals at a single Games, with further medals coming in swimming, athletics, boxing, gymnastics, bowls and weightlifting. Jones also warned that despite the medal success, several sports in Wales continue to struggle and need greater investment and business support.
