Microsoft is sharply raising Xbox console prices across Europe and the UK, with increases of up to €200 (roughly $230) depending on the model. The hikes are being attributed to a broader global squeeze on memory and storage components, driven largely by AI companies buying up huge quantities of chip supply, which has pushed up costs across the wider tech industry.

The 1TB disc version of the Xbox Series X will rise from €599.99 to €799.99, while the digital edition increases from €549.99 to €749.99. The Series S also faces steep jumps: the 512GB model rises by €150 to €499.99, and the 1TB version increases by €200 to €599.99. The report notes that higher-storage models are hit hardest, as they rely more heavily on the same memory components affected by rising demand, and warns that similar price rises could soon extend to phones, TVs and other electronic devices reliant on memory chips.
