A 21-year-old man died after being crushed in an accident at an industrial yard in Falkirk, Scotland, run by his own family's business. Steven Dougall was seriously injured at the site on Castle Drive on 21 July 2026 and later died in hospital, prompting an outpouring of tributes and a large community memorial in his honour.

Police confirmed they were called to the premises, operated by Horizon Reinforcing & Crane Hire Co. Ltd, at around 9.55am, after which emergency services took Dougall to Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert, where he died a short time later. His death is not being treated as suspicious, though police say enquiries into the full circumstances remain ongoing; hundreds of people attended a balloon release memorial for him at Dollar Park in Falkirk.
