A new Hulu crime drama has debuted with a rare perfect 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes, quickly outperforming other well-received 2026 series and reportedly overtaking one of ABC's top shows in the streaming rankings. The series follows an FBI agent investigating a female serial killer and has drawn comparisons to Mindhunter and Heat, marking another critical win for Hulu after a string of acclaimed original titles this year.

The show, which premiered with three episodes on 27 July, is inspired by the 1987 film Black Widow, directed by Bob Rafelson and starring Debra Winger and Theresa Russell; that film grossed $25 million but holds a more modest 58% Rotten Tomatoes score today. The new series was created by Elizabeth Meriwether, known for Dying for Sex and The Dropout, and stars Emmy Rossum (Shameless) as the investigating agent and Lola Petticrew (Say Nothing, Trespasses) as the killer.
