Imtiaz Ali, Anurag Kashyap Team to Present Coming-of-Age Film ‘Bobby Beauty Parlour’ (EXCLUSIVE)
Two prominent Indian filmmakers have partnered to present a new coming-of-age short film, marking an uncommon collaboration between the veteran auteurs who first connected during their student years. 'Bobby Beauty Parlour,' directed by Shashwat Dwivedi, examines a final chapter of friendship through the lens of two childhood companions spending their last hours together in a beauty parlor, with supporting roles from Adrija Sinha, Parul Rana, Saksham Raj and Preeti Kochar.
The project unites the directorial vision of Kashyap with producer Janhavi Asthana, who also serves as co-writer and cinematographer, alongside longtime Kashyap partner Ranjan Singh. The short arrives on YouTube on August 6 following a festival circuit run and centres on themes of growing up and the often-overlooked fragility of childhood friendships.
