The British Film Commission has designated the West Midlands, home to Birmingham and the setting of "Peaky Blinders", as the UK's eighth official regional production hub for scripted film and high-end television. The status reflects the region's growing infrastructure and track record hosting major productions, and cements its place within a national network designed to attract inward investment to the UK screen industry.

The hub qualification was earned partly through work on "Peaky Blinders" itself, the feature film "The Immortal Man", and an untitled "Peaky Blinders" spin-off series, with the two upcoming spin-offs being filmed at Birmingham's newly opened Digbeth Loc. Studios, founded by series creator Steven Knight. The West Midlands joins seven existing hubs — Bristol, Manchester/Liverpool, Leeds, Belfast, Glasgow/Edinburgh, Cardiff, and London & South-East England — within a UK-wide offer that contributed £5.8 billion ($7.8 billion) to the economy in 2025; the announcement also follows the BBC's earlier plans to base its future regional headquarters at Digbeth's Tea Factory.
