Saban Films has acquired North American distribution rights to *The Caged*, a UK-set haunted house horror film directed by Jeffrey Scott Collins and starring Tamzin Merchant, Edmund Kingsley, Raffiella Chapman and newcomer Callen Carter. Inspired by true events, the film follows a family terrorised by a dark presence after moving into a coastal cottage that turns out to sit on the site of a medieval prison once used to hold accused witches, including one hanged in 1582.

The deal was negotiated by Steve Break for Saban Films and by sales company The Coven, which also handles international sales, on behalf of the filmmakers. Producers include Joseph C. Grano, Collins himself, Gaby Whyte Hart and Llewelynn Greeff, with Priscilla Smith, Kendall Anlian and Adam Margules among the executive producers. Collins, whose previous feature *Above the Line* was released in June, wrote and directed the film, describing it as grounded and psychologically driven.
