Erick Brian's new single "Efímero", a collaboration with Cuban artists Dale Pututi and Nesty, has been named Billboard readers' favourite release in the publication's New Music Latin poll, published on 31 July. The result highlights the growing crossover appeal of reparto, a fast-rising Cuban urban genre, as established Latin pop artists increasingly draw on the sound to reach international audiences.

"Efímero", meaning "ephemeral" in English, addresses a short-lived relationship and is built around reparto's characteristic fusion of urban music with timba, son and rumba, underpinned by the wooden clave rhythm. Erick Brian, formerly of boy band CNCO, said the track let him reconnect with his Cuban heritage after building a solo career in R&B and Afrobeats, while Dale Pututi described inviting him into the studio after Erick Brian became a fan of one of his own songs. Kapo's reggae-flavoured "Reina (Kriminal)" was named the runner-up in the same fan poll.
