Tony Iommi, the 78-year-old Black Sabbath guitarist, is releasing his new solo album, From the Dark, on 23 October, marking a return to the studio following the death of his friend and bandmate Ozzy Osbourne. Bassist Becky Baldwin, who played on the record, has revealed how anxious she felt going into her very first session with Iommi, so much so that she asked for a photograph together in case it turned out to be their only meeting.

Baldwin shared the story on Instagram, recalling that she was so nervous recording alongside Iommi with no preparation that she assumed she would be replaced. Iommi laughed off her request for a keepsake photo and instead invited her back for further sessions two weeks later, and Baldwin went on to spend months working on the album. The record's lead single, "World Alone", has already passed one million views, and Baldwin has since heard the final mixes, calling the experience an honour and praising producer Mike Exeter's work.
