Italian actress Serena Rossi will receive the Campari Passion for Film Award at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival, organisers announced on Tuesday. The honour recognises film professionals for their contribution to cinema, and Rossi's selection reflects a career spanning television, film, music and voice acting.

Rossi will accept the award on 10 September in the Sala Grande at the Palazzo del Cinema, ahead of the out-of-competition premiere of Mario Martone's Scherzetto (Trick), in which she stars alongside Toni Servillo. She rose to prominence on Italian television in series such as Il Commissario Montalbano before moving into film with credits including Io sono Mia and more recent roles in Mina Settembre, Netflix's The Children's Train and Disney's Uonderbois; she also hosted Venice's opening and closing ceremonies in 2021. Previous recipients of the award include Gus Van Sant and cinematographer Luca Bigazzi. The festival runs from 2-12 September.
