Solomon's Pools, a set of three ancient reservoirs south of Jerusalem between the Israeli town of Efrat and Bethlehem, have become a point of contention in the wider dispute over heritage and sovereignty in the Holy Land. Officials in Efrat accuse the Palestinian Authority of allowing the historic site to fall into disrepair since it came under Ramallah's administration following the 1993 Oslo Accords, framing the issue as one of neglect of shared biblical heritage.

The pools were built more than 2,000 years ago to supply Jerusalem with water, with most archaeologists dating their construction to the Hasmonean period. The dispute reflects broader tensions over control and preservation of historic sites in the West Bank, where jurisdiction was divided between Israeli and Palestinian authorities under the Oslo Accords.
