The character has now appeared in a consistent string of MCU films over roughly a decade, fuelling fan speculation that Marvel and Sony are gradually laying groundwork for Cindy's eventual transformation into her superhero alter ego on screen.

Cindy previously appeared in Spider-Man: Homecoming and Avengers: Infinity War, both times played by Tiffany Espensen, before featuring in an extended post-credits scene in Spider-Man: No Way Home using unused footage. With Espensen apparently having stepped away from acting, actress Shannon Young Cho now plays Cindy in Brand New Day, continuing the character's presence into Tom Holland's second Spider-Man trilogy. Fans on social media have noted the character's recurring, seemingly deliberate presence, and with Brand New Day's strong box office performance making a fifth Spider-Man film increasingly likely, speculation is growing that Silk could finally be introduced as a superhero in a future instalment.
