Hooded Horse’s watery 4X sequel Endless Legend 2 gets a 1.0 launch date and a new faction of terraforming desert dwellers

Rock Paper Shotgun · 3 hours ago

Amplitude Studios' oceanic 4X strategy game Endless Legend 2 will exit early access with a full 1.0 launch on 17 September, publisher Hooded Horse has announced. The update marks a significant milestone for the game, adding a sixth major faction alongside smaller "Rogue Factions" that splinter off from existing societies, each bringing their own quests and stories to the turn-based strategy title.

The headline addition is the Sandshapers, an ancient desert-dwelling empire who remember the game's now sea-covered world in its dry state and seek to terraform it back through conquest. The first two Rogue Factions, the conquest-focused Order of Zelevas and the enslavement-driven Severed Claw, will also launch with 1.0, with more promised afterwards, alongside a new minor faction called the Mangrove of Harmony, shaped partly by community input. Alongside the announcement, Amplitude has also released a refreshed Steam demo featuring the Kin of Sheredyn and Last Lords factions.
