Tokyo's TIFFCOM content market will expand its Tokyo IP Market: Adaptation & Remake for its 2026 edition and add new conference sessions on artificial intelligence and anime. The market, one of Asia's leading content trading events, is jointly organised by two Japanese government ministries and industry body Unijapan, and runs alongside the Tokyo International Film Festival, reflecting growing international demand for Japanese intellectual property such as manga, novels and remake rights.

TIFFCOM 2026 will take place from 28-30 October at the Tokyo Metropolitan Industrial Trade Center Hamamatsucho-kan, overlapping with TIFF's 39th edition running 26 October to 4 November. The expansion follows a debut Japan IP Market held at Cannes in May, which attracted more than 700 registrants, and the conference programme will feature around 20 sessions covering Japanese IP's overseas growth, an anime industry report, and AI's role in international business, with a focus on Asian markets. The event also includes the seventh Tokyo Gap-Financing Market, showcasing roughly 20 feature film projects in partnership with Canada's Fantasia Frontières market; last year's TIFFCOM drew more than 4,600 industry professionals from 46 countries and regions.
